Simulation & Modelling

Simulation and modelling of scientific concept, well that are not a new thing in this era, other countries had used all this as their teaching and learning material. From my understanding, simulation is the object or process that we can’t imagine then stimulate it in one condition or other method, and modelling is the model that can change the variables of the scientific concept.

Modelling of density we got it from http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/density, from this model we can do the experiment without using experiment, student more understand the concept of density because they can see the method of calculating density of materials.

Simulation of build a molecule we got it from http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/build-a-molecule, not only this but many more example of simulation of science there. from this simulation, student may know the 3D structure of molecule that they cant imagine.

DATA LOGGER

Reflection Data logger

Last lesson, i had learned creating a blog, now my blog under progress. After that, i had introduced the alternative way to collect the experiment data which is by using data logger. Each group get a data logger, then i learned how to use it. The usage of data logger, it can detect many sensor in one time because the input of data logger are more then 1. The sensor must be placed and arrange from right side, it cant detect the input if placed it wrongly. By using the data logger, user can collect a data every second and the relationship of experiment variable could be see from the plotted graph from it. Data logger are friendly user because it easily to carry, make from unfragile materials and can stored data. By practising the data logger, we had did two experiment, first temperature and humidity, and second relationship of temperature and pressure. For the first experiment it done smoothly, but for the group experiment which is second experiment, some problem occur which is the pressure sensor. That sensor cannot detect the pressure reading of gas, so we repeat the experiment four time, the reading still same. So for the next day, we used other pressure sensor (PASCO), then we get the increasing reading of pressure and the relationship of pressure and temperature. From this simple situation, even the technology had build the easier way for human, but human did not appreciate the gadget well, I say that because, the pressure sensor was not service for a long time. Even though, our experiment got problem but it done in a short time, because we didn’t have to plot the graph and collect the data manually, because data logger had came out the data for each variables and graph for each variable in one graph. Everything have pro and contra, we should appreciate it and use it in good manners.

BLOG REFLECTION

Reflection blog

Blog is something nice to have, some people had won an award by their interesting and attractive blog. This is my first blog that i have in my life. In trying to create a blog, it was boring but after i explore all icon in the blog and visit the other blogger, i have learned many thing to make my blog interesting such as by sharing the resources , share link, place the important document that can be use for future for example note, education philosophy and adding cute gadgets that can attract me to always open my blog and update.

Before taking this class, i had viewed other people blog, mostly they write about themselves such as their love mate, coursemate, housemate, family, activities in holiday and their mood. Some of them, make a blog such as their shop, boutique and gallery. Then, i realize everything can be place or post in a blog, such as recipe’s blog, educational blog, gallery blog, and bussiness blog. The most important thing is now, i had created my blog as a portfolio. The blog very useful for everyone, because from there we can invite the other user to follow our blog, can interact with other by commenting or chatting and get buyers.

Blog can be private and public, me make it in public and used the ‘Teaching E-Portfolio’ as and title because my junior for this course can make my blog as their reference. By other hand, this blog also can be shared or exchanged new ideas to others not only from this country about the teaching and learning that used in Malaysia. As a teacher, we should get new ideas for vary our teaching and learning in class, so from there we can attract student to go school and learn. Everyone want to be success in their job, same with me, i want be success in educate my student to become useful person.

Back to the blog, by blogging everything i can post and save in here, in case my notebook had been formatted or problem, and i had no back up for certain document or resource, i only have to open my blog and click the link then get the source. Everything that i wrote in a blog, i post it for public reading or just save as draft. Besides that, just as an alert, for our private picture or document, should not post or keep in the blog, because hackers can do anything and destroy our life, the private keep in heart dont mess our life.

Let Use Data Logger

In the ICT class, I had studied about the data logger which can be used by doing the experiment. The usage of data logger for record the collective data of experiment. Data logger make the experiment become more easier and the accuracy of data are higher. Moreover, it is an environmental friendly because it can reduce usage of paper.

In my opinion, the usage of data logger are more efficient because the data can be record in every second. Moreover, the data logger can inserted more then one input in a one time, the variables of the experiment can be detected by sensor in one time. The data logger that I used in an experiment it only can input maximum 4 sensor, but it can be used for our experiment because we only use 2 sensor in one time.

From the picture, we can see that the data logger can produced the graph in many variables. The result can be detect even it slightly change for example the different only 0.000001.

The usage of data logger can help use as teacher and also student to get understand the concept because by traditionally, the slightly different can be seen and take long time to get the result changes.

IWB ( Interactive White Board )

Interactive white board (IWB), i had heard before from my cousin at Singapore, they didnt know what is blackboard because them used smart board in teaching and learning. Sometime, i felt shameful with my cousin there because they all very up to date with technology but we very lack in technology knowledge. for the first time i got the smart board software, i didn't know how to use it, and feel much better use power point than smart notebook, this is because i take an hour to done one slide presentation for my group presentation of smart school. After few times trial, i get the hint how to make it easier, and know i feel comfortable in using it. At lab class, we all had thought how to use the Smart Board, firstly we learned how to calibrate it, because when the smart board hang while presentation we have to calibrate it. Calibrate it similar with refresh.
After that we learned the way to make a presentation using smart board and we had introduced with the activity in the tools kit that can be used in presentation. Every student had tried used the smart board, and in the first time i tried it, it really fun and enjoyable. By using this, we can avoid from chalk and marker pen that will harmful our healthy. This item also can attract student become more interested in learning at class. Many activities can be come out from this smart notebook software and smart board. Although it very useful for us as future teacher, and other person such as business people, we have to spend more money to get this item and added the laptop ram to provide this software because this software are big.
